Anointing of the Sick (formerly known as Last Rites)

The Catholic Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick, formerly known as Last Rites or Extreme Unction, is a ritual of healing appropriate not only for physical but also for mental and spiritual sickness. In the case of emergency needing a priest, after office hours, please call 610-266-0695 ext 310, the after hours phone line.

If you or your loved one is anticipating surgery or hospitalization please contact the Church prior to your hospital stay to receive the Sacrament of Anointing. The Parish office is in daily contact with the neighboring hospitals to be informed if any of our parishioners have been admitted.  However, if your loved one is not visited by a member of St Elizabeth, please inform the Church office; there may have been a mix up in the paperwork.   In the case of an emergency, please contact the Church.

Although not part of the sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick, St. Elizabeth has ministries that pray daily for our sick and infirm. You may call the Church office and request that their name be placed on the sick list. Their name can also be included in the bulletin for extra prayers by the entire parish community if you desire.
