Prayer for Protection in a Time of Epidemic

Lord Jesus Christ, our Divine Physician, You came into this world for our salvation. Look kindly on us now, we pray, and be our helper and defender in this day of affliction. We ask You to guard and protect us, so that we, and all those who serve You, might be kept safe from this epidemic.

For all who have died from it, have mercy. For those who are ill now, bring healing. Console those who have lost loved ones to this epidemic. Strengthen and shield the caregivers who are helping the sick. Grant success to those working to contain the epidemic; encourage and enlighten those who search for a cure. To those who are afraid, grant Your peace.

Give us hope and increase our faith, O Lord. Give us the grace to follow You, to serve You, and to trust You without fear or hesitation.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the living God, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Amen
