Youth Ministry
Our youth ministry activities are planned twice a month on Sundays for students in 6th through 11th grades. The youth ministry has held game nights; gone on outings and retreats. Call the parish office office for more information. 610-266-0695 and leave a message for Christina Tran, Youth Ministry Director.
The P.R.E.P. Program is for all parishioners Kindergarten through 8th grade enrolled in public schools who desire to continue learning and celebrating the Sacraments. Children are instructed in the beliefs, traditions, practices, and teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.
Through the Prep program, children will receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation, First Holy Communion and Confirmation. Contact Mrs. Stockdale for information. dirreled@sercc.org – 610-266-0695 x208
Vacation Bible school comes every June with kid-centered activities. Join us for a week of activities, snacks, and fun as we deepen our understanding of our faith. Contact our Director of Vacation Bible School, Kaitlyn Wied at VBS@sercc.org
Children from Kindergarten to age 8, are invited to the chapel to participate in “C.L.O.W.” during the 10:00 Mass on Sundays. Children hear and discuss age appropriate Bible readings, and are invited to pray for their special intentions as well as those of the parish and community. During Mass at 10:00 am the children are invited to join the volunteers and go to the chapel for ten minutes; the children return to their parents in the church after the Prayer of the Faithful.
The purpose of C.L.O.W. is to have an adapted liturgical celebration centered on the Sunday readings which has been simplified in wording and symbolism to lead the children in the Liturgy of the Word. Gradually leading the children to full, active participation in the Sunday Mass.
Children’s Liturgy of the Word is held weekly from September to June.
Sports Activities
St Elizabeth provides our youth with ample opportunities for parishioners to participate in C.Y.O. (Catholic Youth Organization) and seasonal sports. We have basketball, cheer-leading, cross country, track & field and volleyball, Come be a participant or cheer on your favorite team. Trunk or Treat at St. Elizabeth
St. Elizabeth annual Halloween "Trunk-or-Treat" is typically held after the Saturday, 4:30 Mass in the large parking lot on Pershing Blvd across from the parish hall. All parish families are invited - both the young and the young at heart!
Decorate your cars with Halloween fun and treats for the kiddies!!
The benefits of "Trunk-or-Treat" are numerous: less walking for little ones, a safer environment for Halloween, celebrating with the community, and fun for everyone!
Plan on participating next Halloween season.
Volunteer Opportunities
St Elizabeth also has multiple opportunities for our young people to volunteer. Depending on the age of your child, we have Altar Servers and weekend Sacristans, children's bell and singing choirs, as well as many opportunities to work on specific activities such as the monthly Parish Breakfast, annual events like the Basket Social and Parish Festival.
The Diocese of Allentown requires all adult volunteers and employees to fulfill Pennsylvania state and local training and clearances. Church staff is available to help with this simple process. Please contact the Church at 610-266-0695 ext 208 if you are interested in helping.
